In this tour, we will head to the South from Yerevan.

The first stop will be in Khor Virap monastery. Besides being an important archeological landmark Khor Virap is the closest point to Ararat from where opens a wonderful view to this Biblical mountain.

After this, we will head to the direction of “Vayots Dzor”, rocky land full of nice gorges, mountain goats and red rocks. Here we will stop in the village of Areni. Armenians were making wine in this area for thousands of years. Here we will visit a wine factory, see how the wine is made a do degustation.

The next stop will be “Areni 1” an archeological cave where the oldest shoe in the world, as well as other extraordinary artifacts, were excavated.

The last destination of this tour is the beautiful Noravank church located between the red rocks. Driving to here we will cross the gorge of birds that is a beautiful natural site as well.
